Let’s work together to make winter in the City warmer than ever!
In 2022, the City Renewal Authority is coordinating the delivery of a winter program to encourage Canberrans to spend more time in the City Centre - shopping, eating, being entertained and socialising.
An outdoor ice rink will be installed in Civic Square for the Canberra school holidays along with winter seasonal activities aimed to appeal to the Canberra community.
Last winter, more than 20,000 people attended the activation during the school holidays and this year we want to attract more visitors to the city to support local businesses.
Why should you get involved?
We want locals to visit the City Centre frequently this winter. All we need are your offers and promotions to attract them to spend time together in the City Centre.
Participating businesses will receive:
- Listing on our dedicated Winter in the City website, winter.inthecity.com.au
- Inclusion in a program booklet that will be delivered to over 70 venues throughout Canberra and the surrounding region
- Dedicated marketing promoting city businesses and their winter programs and offerings across social, digital and radio platforms

If you’re a hospitality, retail, service or people focused business in the City and want to get involved, simply fill out the form below to be a part of the campaign.
All we need are your offers and promotions to attract our audiences and encourage them to spend time together in the City.
If you already have events and promotions planned for the school holiday period these will be ideal to feature. Offers could be anything from a winter-inspired drink to a discounted family menu, or a too-good-to-miss saving on winter woollies to keep everyone cosy on the rink.
